Operational procedures:
Subject teachers refer to the primary curriculum guidelines issued by the Education Bureau and relevant subject curriculum guidelines (including principles for types, frequency, and allocation of homework) to design various assignments that align with teaching objectives and needs.
Teachers may make minor adjustments and adaptation based on students' abilities and learning needs, as well as adapt homework requirements according to the individual needs of students.
Students can utilize tutoring sessions to complete part or even all of their homework, and teachers will provide appropriate guidance and support to those in need.
When grading assignments, teachers provide grades, scores, or other forms of performance evaluations or comments to give feedback on students' learning.
In addition to teacher evaluations, students are encouraged to self-assess to promote reflection; peer assessments are encouraged to foster mutual learning; and parental involvement in feedback is encouraged to enhance parent-child interaction.
Homework for Primary one and Primary two will be uploaded to the school website at a regular time after school each day as reference for parents.
Subject teachers will coordinate the amount of homework across classes to ensure it is balanced, preventing students from being overloaded with assignments.
Our school collect opinions from all stakeholders regarding the homework policy regularly, and review and revise the policy to meet the needs of students and curriculum development.
Parental Support:
Assist children in scheduling a fixed time for doing homework, creating a conducive learning environment by turning off the television and minimizing distractions; help them develop good habits for maintaining an orderly routine; allocate time according to homework requirements and priorities to ensure timely completion.
When guiding children with their homework, focus on stimulating their thinking. Therefore, parents should provide hints rather than giving them the answers. Parents should avoid giving too much support or even completing the homework for them to prevent fostering a dependence on assistance.
Cooperate with the school by carefully reviewing students' homework books and graded assignments daily. Through the feedback provided by teachers, parents can gain a deeper understanding of children’s learning progress.
Maintain close collaboration with teachers to support children in completing their homework. If difficulties arise, discuss appropriate solutions with teachers as early as possible.
