Our school has participated in the “Project Lighthouse” organized by the Security Bureau. This project involves well-known figures from various sectors serving as volunteer mentors. According to students' interests and abilities, they engage in a variety of activities that broaden their horizons and inspire them to identify their interests, talents, and dreams, which will help them determine their career paths. The aim is to cultivate them into confident, proactive, responsible, creative, and happy citizens of Hong Kong.
The activities in the program include visits to the graduation ceremony of the Special Duties Unit, the airport police station, the Fire Services Academy, and the “Safe Community Hub” run by the Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit. These experiences help students understand various disciplined forces, contributing to their life planning while fostering a spirit of law-abiding citizenship.
Additionally, the program arranges for students to learn about Chinese and local culture. Activities include a cultural study tour to Sha Tau Kok, making traditional Chinese New Year foods, visiting Ocean Park to see pandas, watching Chinese women's volleyball matches, and interacting with Chinese Olympic track and field athlete Su Bingtian. Through these experiences, students gain insight into the great achievements of Chinese culture and sports, enhancing their national identity and effectively helping non-Chinese students develop their potential, broaden their perspectives and cultivate proper values.
